50 years of research from nuclear energy to the green economy
ENEA Trisaia Research Center was founded in 1963 as a laboratory for the reprocessing of irradiated nuclear fuel elements. Today is a multidisciplinary scientific research Centre engaged in research for sustainable development on a variety of topics: bioenergy, biotechnology, green chemistry, new materials for energy efficiency and agro-ecology. In the context of Europe 2020 and the Smart Specialization, the Trisaia Research Centre is a partner available for industrial strategies, especially in technology clusters of green chemistry, agri-food and energy.
On December 17,th 2013 with a public ceremony were remembered the fifty years history of the research Centre, but mostly were introduced the new research programs aimed at giving more and more competitive and effective tools to address the challenge on major issues, such as energy, which Italy and Europe must face at their best to play the game of the future: building a more sustainable development.
